Whenever you want to do a training session with your Parrot you need to decide on some basics, like what trick do you want to train and what will be the reward?  The trick then needs to be broken down into small segments . . .

A bird’s sight is their primary means of communication amongst the flock and especially true of Parrots.  

Over the past 15 years, a huge amount of research has been done into Parrot care and behaviour.  Old myths have been debunked and techniques have been refined.  However, not all Parrot care professionals and authors have accepted the new information.

Those of us that are lucky enough to be owned by a small bird know that they are big personalities and brains in tiny bodies.  Budgies, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, and all their small feathered kin spend just as much time looking for enough food to satisfy their lightning fast metabolisms as their larger counterparts. 

Most first time Parrot owners are quite surprised when we suggest they potty train their Parrot rather than use a diaper. Naturally the response is always “how can I potty train my Parrot?”
