T'was the week before Christmas
And all through the nest
My time was spent preening
To look just my best.
This morning I woke up
To this giant big tree
Not even placed near me
And they caged it you see!
The tree was all decked out
With glitter and gleam
With shiny things dangling
New playthings I schemed.
The lights how they flickered
My, they even did blink,
I wondered and pondered
Just what did they think?
Those toys - oh so tempting!
Oh why can't I have some?
Just out of my reach,
And it's making me glum.
So I whistled and squawked
And called each by name,
"Now come here my Parronts
- I'm going insane! "
With what to my wondering eyes did appear?
There's mummy and daddy
And what there do I spy?
Why a wrapped shiny bucket
Filled right to the brim - oh my!
So back to my perch I climbed mighty quick
A wee little cuddle then with much delight
Saw what SantaBird brought me
All was perfect, just right.
There were lots of new goodies
Safe toys just for me,
New perches to chew on
And some treats it must be.
That darn tree it can stay there
It has nothing at all that I need!
My treats are much better
