Peter African Grey Parrot

Peter

Peter is an 18-year old African Grey congo who is very intelligent. He has an enormous vocabulary of over 1000 words and uses phrases in context. He requires far more attention and love than I can give him as this was my son's bird and he no longer wants him.

He has been well taken care of and is healthy and active. He requires someone who is knowledgeable about African Grey parrots and is willing to care for him for the rest of his life.

He is used to a multi-pet household of cats and dogs and is unafraid.

Suzanne found Peter a wonderful home.

Kiwi Indian Ringneck Parakeet

Kiwi

We have been fostering Kiwi and she now needs to be adopted by the right person. Kiwi has a very lively personality and loves people, flying, foraging, showers, and preening. She is great with our cat and dog as she is definitely the boss. We believe she may also get along well with another bird as well.

Please feel free to contact me if you have a good home for Kiwi, hopefully in Mississauga.

Bella

Bella Green Cheek Conure

Bella is a 16-month-old Green Cheek Conure (Not DNA Sexed)

Our family is relocating to another country and is devastated that she can not come with us due to a very recent change in their Bird Import Laws.

Bella is tame, very sweet and playful and an incredibly smart bird. Her favourite spot is on Mom's shoulder – she gives kisses and loves to cuddle and snuggle up to her favourite humans. She is very attached to mom, but will go to others if mom is busy or not around – Just don’t try and take her from mom, she is a great bodyguard! She knows her name and is a very fast learner. She talks quite a bit and will try and copy your whistles. Bella is usually out of her cage for most of the day and loves to be where all the action is and with her family. She is a little stressed now because our house is undergoing some work, and has started barbering her chest /neck feathers, but we are working on fixing the problem. Looking for a family that will love her and enjoy her as much as we do.

Pepper

Pepper Cockatiel

This is Pepper, a one-year-old male cockatiel living in Etobicoke.  He was neglected, left for very long hours with no toys, and never let out of his cage.  He's a very sweet bird who now hops on a small rope perch and at his age will be easily hand tamed.  He needs a person or persons who will have the time to give him.  All he needs is lots of love and attention.

Mango Senegal Parrot

Mango

Mango is a male, 8-year-old Senegal.

My human is no longer able to take care of me, so I am looking for a new home. I have been very well taken care of and I’m hoping to bond with someone who is familiar with parrots and comfortable handling them. I have been used to a lot of handling and roaming time outside my cage. I can talk and have a few cute tricks. I'm a bit of a big deal you could say, and I'm ALL personality. I tend to get a little attached to my human (I prefer women), and love to have a little daily affection and attention.

Foster a Parrot

Esme

Esme is a beautiful, untamed almost four-year-old lovebird.  She was purchased/rescued as a youngster from a bird mill, as a mate for her new owner's older, tame, male lovebird. They bonded, (she was calm and happy) but he passed away a few months ago and will not be replaced.  Esme has been lonely and frustrated since and she does not get along with her owner’s other, unrelated, birds.

High spirited, somewhat territorial, acrobatic, and creative vocally, Esme is a smart, entertaining little miss who gets on well around people and although a bit shy will hover nearby during supervised flight times. Her owner would like to find her a new home with patience, previous lovebird experience, appreciative of their charms and quirks, and who preferably may have a lonely lovebird of their own, in need of company.

The owner would be happy to have someone adopt Esme, with the stipulation that if it doesn’t work out, the owner will take her back.

Update:  Marian would like to let everyone know that she has found a home for Esme and all is well.  She would also like to thank the lovely, caring folks who reached out to adopt her.

Caiques for Adoption

Jinx

Jinx & Radar are 8-year-old Black Headed Caiques available for adoption.  They are housed separately as they will occasionally ruff each other up and would be best going to separate homes.  They are extremely tame and will adjust well to a new family.   They are located in Calgary.

Mangie

Mangie is an 8-year-old Senegal parrot who needs a forever home.  She is quite the character who loves to have her head and neck scratched.  She ONLY responds to WOMEN.  She has a small repertoire of words and phrases such as, "mangie pretty, watchya doing, mangie sweetie pretty bird, hello, hi, ha ha ha, and a variety of silly sounds. She is not getting the attention she needs/deserves and I think this may be the reason for her feather plucking (started approximately 1 year ago).

Update:  Mangie's Parronts have decided to keep her and we are working together to resolve her plucking.

Adopt a Parrot

Mocho

Mocho is a very happy Hahn's Macaw, full of energy and constantly playing around his cage. He steps up for all men and loves attention.  He is accustomed to being out of his cage most of the day and being put to bed around 6 pm.  He loves being on the shoulder,  He eats seed and pellet parrot food, loves apple, banana and a variety of vegetables.

He is starting to talk. Says his name, hello and I love you. Babbles a lot as if trying to say more.  He Mimics many sounds like sneezing, snoring, crunching, human laugh, blows kisses, and will give soft kisses as his beak touches your cheek.

The most entertaining thing Mocho does is sing and dance with you by bobbing his head as he chirps while you sing.

Adopt a Parrot

Mookie

Mookie is a well cared for one-year-old pearl pied female Cockatiel.  She needs a new home because the owner also has a male Cockatiel and does not want them breeding.  Mookie is friendly and tame but shy of the hand.  She never bites.

Update:  Mookie's Parront has decided to keep her.
