Jack in the Box has a surprise inside. Or you can add more to the box such as a treat or two or bits of broken toys for shredding.  These small box toys are always a hit with most small to large Parrots from Lovebirds right up to African Greys.  They love the chewy Coral Reef Critters that trim the box and get excited when they discover the prize inside when tearing into the box.

This highly interactive foraging toy provides continuous entertainment for Parrots and their human companions.  The Carousel bracket mounts on the side of the cage.  It is a six inches cross and contains four 2 inch square boxes with lids.  Each box open differently and the entire device spins freely on the bracket.

Your Parrot will spin the Carousel until the box containing the preferred treat is found.  They must learn how to open the lid so that they can retrieve the food.  Add different food items such as nuts, fruit, pellets to the individual boxes.  Try hiding certain items in shredded paper or add a colourful wooden chew block in one of the boxes.

The Full Bloom is Winston's, my Eclectus, favourite toy.  It is a soft chew and especially good for Parrots that often ignore their toys. It is a successful toy for light chewers. Parrot get great satisfaction because it is easy to destroy . This foraging device seems to be enthusiastically enjoyed by most Parrots.  The Foraging Wheel is a favourite of highly active Parrots, especially Amazons, Caiques, Cockatoos, and Macaws, and very bright Parrots, such as African Greys.

Your Parrot must use the knob to turn the cover plate and expose the food items within each chamber.  To release the wheel from the bracket, you simply pull down the latch on the bottom of the bracket, raise the cover plate and unhook at the top.  The wheel is then free.  Unscrew the cover plate to refill the chambers, put the cover plate back on, hook the wheel on the top and fold down, secure to the bracket by pressing the bottom latch inward and it will snap closed.

It only takes a few moments and your Parrot will be happily engaged for several hours.  To encourage them t0 keep working the wheel refill each chamber with a different type of food.

Meet Cosmo the female African Grey Parrot who talks, responds, and tells jokes. By age six she had learned more than two hundred different phrases and become an adorable feathery person who awakens us to the potential intelligence of all other non-human residents of the earth.

“Telephone for bird!” was Cosmo’s first joke. Before she could talk, when the phone would ring, I would shout “Telephone!” for her benefit and then pick up the receiver. After she found out that I was B’Jean, she would joyfully announce “Telephone for B’Jean” at the top of her little lungs when the phone would ring or when she’d mimic the phone’s ring—“Rrrring!” To my surprise one day, after sounding the rrrring from atop her cage in my bedroom, she shouted, “Telephone for bird!” I broke up laughing. Then she imitated me: “Hahahahaha!” And I couldn’t stop laughing. There we were, a bird and a human, laughing hilariously together! What a moment. You can imagine how often thereafter she crowed “Telephone for bird! Hahahahahaha!”

The Coconut Craze is one of our most popular toys. It is filled with bits of leather, paper rope, chewy wood, a nubby, shredded paper, vine ball, and finished off with curly straws, plastic wheel and colourful bell.  It can be used as a foraging toy over and over again.  

These Coco Stars are made from coconut shells.  They make great talon toys as most are fibrous and enticing to shred.  You can also drill a hole to string them onto toys.  The package contains 12 stars.

The Cob 'n Rocker is an Amazon favourite and designed for your wild one.
