Avian veterinarians agree that foraging for food is a healthy, stimulating activity which should be encouraged by Parrot owners as it will improve the physical and mental well being of their pet  This starter kit is an easy to use, economical means to help you reach your goal of having your Parrot “work” or “expend some effort” to acquire their food on a daily basis.  Parrots must chew through each compartment to continue to reveal and gather more food.  As they becomes a more proficient forager, add multiple units to the environment and Increase the difficulty by positioning units in locations which are more challenging to access.   The Foraging Dispenser Refill boxes are available here.

Ice Cream Swirl is a wheel of paper-wrapped Ice Cream Spoons that are secured between colourful waffle paper and wooden balls.  The paper wrapping on the spoons is also coloured to make this toy more exciting for your Parrot.  It will surely be a snapping good chew for many smaller Parrots.

Get your young Parrot In the Groove. This toy has been designed to entice younger Parrots to chew on wood and forage for treats. It has nice thin slats plus 2-1/4" grooved wood square, honeycomb cubes to hide their treat, and a few foam flowers for shredding all strung on paper rope. This highly interactive foraging toy provides continuous entertainment for Parrots and their human companions.  The Carousel bracket mounts on the side of the cage.  It is a six inches cross and contains four 2 inch square boxes with lids.  Each box open differently and the entire device spins freely on the bracket.

Your Parrot will spin the Carousel until the box containing the preferred treat is found.  They must learn how to open the lid so that they can retrieve the food.  Add different food items such as nuts, fruit, pellets to the individual boxes.  Try hiding certain items in shredded paper or add a colourful wooden chew block in one of the boxes.

So simple and so loved, the Leather Tugger is designed for Parrots to strengthen their beak by gnawing. They love to hold the leather strip while gnawing on the oval disks. Bitty Birdie Bagels have been added to a newer version to make this toy more enjoyable.  This is perfect for small to medium Parrots.
