Quincy is quite the character. She came to the Parrot Sanctuary when her family experienced extreme personal hardship. Quincy was a beloved companion. Unfortunately, Quincy became feather destructive after losing her human best friend. We are working with her to manage her anxiety and learn fun alternatives to occupy her mind and beak to give her feathers a chance to grow back. Quincy loves to tell our team "good job" when they are cleaning!

Be a superhero for Quincy.

Studies have shown that African Grey Parrots have specific and individual tastes in music!  When given an opportunity to choose pieces of music... the Parrots in the test consistently chose different songs, to which they then danced and sang along. Some pet African Grey Parrots have also been observed using the music feature of smart speakers, such as Alexa or Echo, to verbally request playback of specific favoured songs.

Quincy has invented a little song - although it's hard to make out all the words.  Everyone who hears it agrees it's a familiar melody but just can't place it.  It seems to be about water ... "water water, do you want some water" are the only words we can make out but it's quite long and complex.

We know Amazon Parrots love opera music, and Cockatoos seem to love rock & roll. What is your Parrot's favourite music?
