When positioned properly they will not cause irritation to feet. They are completely washable and a whiz to get on and off with the slick bolt on end. Once you start using these grooming perches you'll add one to every cage. Grooming perches are best used beside food dishes where your Parrot will wipe it's beak after eating and be on it just long enough to dull the toe nail tips.
